SNOI 2022 Conference - Back to Basics

The School Nurse Organization of Idaho will hold its annual conference on June 14-15, 2022, at Ridgevue High School in Nampa, Idaho. Both days will be 8 AM to 5 PM. In support of our profession, which has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the SNOI board voted to offer a reduced registration rate of $55 for the conference. Our goal is to reunite and revitalize Idaho school nurses and health services staff!

The “Back to Basics” two-day in-person event will address many domains of school nurse practice. Keynote speaker Dr. Mark Rasmus published author and noted speaker, will educate on school start times and the effects of sleep deprivation in adolescence. Other renowned speakers include Julie Kittelsrud, CNP, Ph.D., to discuss mRNA technology, and Lauren Adams, RDN, LD, CDE to present information on diabetes, insulin pumps, and CGMs. In addition, representatives from the Idaho Board of Nursing and other local health specialists will be presenting information pertinent to school nurses.

New this year, each participant has the opportunity to earn up to two university credits by enrolling in the conference and by participating in the book study. Those opting for the book study will need to read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks before the conference start date. An evening breakout session will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. to discuss the book. CPR COURSE: American Heart Association BLS-CPR Registration -  American Heart Association coursework will be done online in advance ( AHA will charge $32.50 for the online portion: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls), followed by an in-person skills breakout session (charge of $25.50 paid to Sunshine CPR at time of class) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on the evening of June 14th. Information will be sent to you from Sunshine CPR, LLC following registration.
