PLEASE REVIEW: Proposed SNOI Bylaw Amendment

The SNOI Board of Directors is recommending the alignment of the SNOI bylaws with the current NASN bylaws. This determination was made after discussions with NASN and a full review of current SNOI practices, bylaws, and organizational needs. Please review the proposed bylaws in comparison to the current bylaws (2020). A vote will be held at the June 15, 2023, Annual Meeting in Coeur d’Alene per current bylaw requirements. There is an open period for discussion on this announcement through May 31, 2023.

Here is a synopsis of a few major changes:

  • Articles are outlined in accordance with NASN.
  • Presidency positions align with NASN (President, Vice-President, President-Elect).
  • Board of Director terms of office are set at two years with the exception of the NASN Director, which remains at four years.
  • Vacancies are appointed by the Board of Directors with the exception of the President who shall be replaced by the President-Elect.
  • Duties are pulled from the bylaws and included as a Governing Document allowing for fluidity as board needs arise.
  • Electronic meetings and elections are officially added as options.
  • The Idaho School Nurse Consultant is added as an ex-officio member.
  • An Executive Committee is established.
