The School Nurse Organization of Idaho (SNOI) invites you to nominate an outstanding school nurse for the 2025–2026 School Nurse of the Year award.
School nurses are essential members of the education team—safeguarding student health, supporting attendance, and helping every learner be ready to learn. This award honors a nurse who consistently goes above and beyond role expectations, responds to challenging situations with professionalism and compassion, and advocates tirelessly for students, staff, and the broader school community.
How to nominate
Please submit a brief nomination describing the nurse’s impact and specific examples of their contributions. Perfection isn’t required—your authentic perspective matters most.

Deadline: December 8, 2025
Eligibility (SNOI/NASN standards)
Nominees must:
- Be a registered professional nurse.
- Be a current SNOI/NASN member and have been a member for the preceding two years.
- Have at least five years of experience as a school nurse.
- Be currently practicing as a school nurse and spend >50% of their time in direct care.
- Demonstrate excellence aligned with NASN’s Standards of Professional Performance for School Nursing Practice.
There is no limit to how often a nurse may be nominated.
However, past recipients of “School Nurse of the Year” are not eligible for renomination.
